Job description

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Efficiently and consistently prepares all menu items and specials with great attention to quality, presentation, taste, and all other details. Includes the ability to prepare large orders in a manner that preserves the quality of each plate.
  2. Learns and establishes an efficient routine to ensure all prep work is complete to support the Home Cafe during its busiest period, ensuring optimum freshness and avoiding waste. 
  3. Able to effectively make adjustments to provide the best overall dining experience to all customers. Reads recipes and makes food according to specifications.
  4. Regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position. Employees are expected to be punctual and consistently present during their scheduled work hours to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the business.
  5. Develops, maintains, and enhances positive relations with all guests and employees.
  6. Wears and maintains all uniforms properly, including nametag.  Must wear a gaming license if in possession of one.
  7. Maintains a clean workstation. Assists in keeping the kitchen clean and organized. 
  8. Alerts the supervisor of any concerns regarding the quality, selection, and variety of all food.
  9. Performs duties in compliance with health standards, the Colorado Limited Gaming Act, and internal policies and procedures.
  10. Maintains alertness for the performance of all responsibilities and a general awareness of restaurant operations at all times.
  11. Receives training, technical direction, and guidance from the Prep Cook Lead, Floor Supervisor, and/or Kitchen Manager.
  12. Performs other duties, including special projects, as needed and directed.

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Demonstrated cooking experience, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant, or gaming environment. Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure. Demonstrated experience in problem-solving, organizing, and prioritizing work.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Graduation from high school or equivalent in education and experience. One (1) or more years of recent and related cooking experience is preferred, specifically within a hospitality, restaurant, or gaming environment.
