Job description
The Biology Department at High Point University invites applications for two Teaching Postdoctoral Scholar positions in the areas of cell/molecular biology and neuroscience. The two positions are nine-month appointments that begin on August 15, 2022 and are renewable for up to three years, based on performance and funding. Responsibilities will include teaching core courses within the biology and/or neuroscience majors; participating in biweekly teaching mentorship sessions; and advising undergraduate biology and neuroscience majors. Teaching Postdoctoral Scholars will have the opportunity to mentor undergraduate research experiences and/or engage in a Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) project. Opportunities also exist for summer funding of research experiences provided to undergraduate students. The position includes research space in our new state-of-the-art science complex, which houses the Wanek School of Natural Sciences. The Wanek School of Natural Sciences is the academic home to several undergraduate majors, including Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, Neuroscience and Physics.

Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated a commitment to undergraduate education. A Ph.D. in the biological sciences or a closely related field is required. ABD candidates with a degree completion date by December of 2022 will be considered.
