DEPARTMENT ADDENDUM
Department Specific Functions
We are seeking a highly motivated scientist to join our group as a Postdoctoral Scholar. Our laboratory develops and applies multidisciplinary approaches, including single-molecule force spectroscopy, single-molecule fluorescence imaging, stem cell-derived organoids, gene editing, and microfluidics, to address fundamental biological questions and unmet medical needs.
The successful candidate will investigate how biomolecules and cells sense and respond to changes in their mechanical and biochemical microenvironment. The postdoctoral scholar will develop and apply advanced biophysical, bioengineering, and cell biology approaches, including single-molecule force spectroscopy, single-molecule fluorescence imaging, stem cell-derived organoid models, gene editing, and microfluidic technologies. Research projects will focus on understanding molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate cardiovascular, renal, and respiratory physiology and disease. The candidate is expected to lead research projects, publish findings in high-impact journals, present at scientific conferences, and contribute to the mentoring of junior trainees in the laboratory.
Department Specific Qualifications
Education:
Ph.D.
Experience:
Applicants must have a Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) in Biophysics, (Stem) Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Physics, or a related field. Candidates should have no more than two years of prior postdoctoral research experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:
Preferred qualifications include research experience in one or more of the following areas: single-molecule biophysics, stem cells and organoids, microfluidics, fluorescence microscopy, or scientific programming for data acquisition, instrument control, and image analysis using LabVIEW, MATLAB, or related platforms.
