Job Description

AbbVie are seeking a Program Manager to join our team in Westport. This is a 12 month fixed term contract. The Program Manager provides technical support and program management to key operations projects and NPI projects throughout the site. The successful candidate will apply best practice Program Management tools and methodologies to ensure programs are delivered on schedule and right first time ensuring consistency in the delivery of Program Management support across the site. 

You will lead lessons learned activities to ensure continuous improvement of Program Management delivery. Leads cross-functional matrix teams from across manufacturing, engineering, science and technology, quality assurance, purchasing, and supply chain to execute the strategies for the development and supply of new products.

The Program Manager will operate in an environment which is largely self-managed but with oversight from the Site PMO Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate activities, timelines and resources requirements necessary for development of new products. 
  • Develop and maintain detailed program tracking tools and hold cross-functional matrix team to account for delivery of milestones
  • Supports cross-functional teams in the execution of strategies for supply of development and clinical supply of new products.
  • Identify financial resource requirements for key programs.
  • Supports supplier selection, technology transfers, capital expansions, regulatory filings, and building of launch supplies.
  • Identification and project management of large continuous improvement projects.
  • Adheres to and supports all EHS & E standards, procedures and policies.
  • Provide timely and accurate updates to Site Programme Manager, Site Leadership Team and IME management regarding project planning and execution.
  • No Direct Reports but will manage multiple cross functional resources as part of Program Manager position
  • Provides cross training and guidance on project management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a Relevant Discipline (Technical Qualification in Engineering, Science, Technology is a distinct advantage)
  • Formal qualification in Project Management would be advantageous, but not essential 
  • Experience (3+ years) in manufacturing, supply chain management, engineering, and/or process/product development. 
  • Experience planning and executing projects.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional team environment. 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence peers in other functions or departments (Site/Global)
