Position Summary:
In the Pharmacy Technician - Clinical Support role you will work for an industry leader and the largest home infusion organization and play an integral role in high-quality care to patients every day! Key responsibilities * Tracking lab data and narcotic prescriptions and processing patient prescription refills under the direct approval and supervision of the pharmacist. * Assist the pharmacist in obtaining authorization for pharmacy services as requested; validate insurance coverage and communication with patients. * Gather information for the initial admission of new patients and review all new charts to ensure that all necessary nursing paperwork is included. * Manage the schedule for patient deliveries, manage inventory, create and maintain supply templates in the pharmacy computer data base. * Document all supply management activities in the patient medical record. * Participate in on call rotation as indicated by staffing and business needs. Optional responsibilities may include Infusion Compounding skills (confirm with Leader): * Product preparation, compounding sterile products, and maintaining the pharmacy clean room suite to 797 requirements. * Documentation of IV admixture and clean room suite sterility testing. * Complete order entry and refills under the supervision of the pharmacist. * Inventory management and storage, complete appropriate documentation, such as labels, log sheets and reports. * Participate in on call rotation as indicated by staffing and business needs.
* At least 6 months pf experience as a pharmacy technician coordinating activities in an administrative support function. * National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB). Eligible for state registration, certification or licensure per state regulations. * Advanced computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet utilization. * Excellent customer service skills (written and verbal) a must.
