Job Description – Pharmacist in Charge

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Pharmacist in Charge (PIC) to oversee the daily operations of our independent pharmacy. The PIC will be responsible for managing pharmacy staff, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and maintaining the highest standards of patient care. This position requires strong leadership, clinical expertise, and the ability to create a patient-centered environment that promotes safe and effective medication use.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and support staff.
  • Ensure full compliance with state, federal, and local pharmacy regulations.
  • Oversee prescription processing, compounding, and dispensing of medications.
  • Provide direct patient care, including medication counseling and therapy monitoring.
  • Conduct patient assessments and collaborate with healthcare providers to improve outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate patient and pharmacy records in accordance with HIPAA standards.
  • Manage inventory, order medications, and monitor stock levels to minimize waste.
  • Train, mentor, and support pharmacy staff to maintain a high-performing team.
  • Utilize pharmacy software for prescription management and reporting.


Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
  • Active Texas pharmacist license in good standing (no disciplinary actions).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a pharmacist, with at least 2 years as PIC.
  • Experience in independent pharmacy settings strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in compounding practices, inventory management, and pharmacy operations.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology and medication protocols.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.


Job Type: Full-Time (Day Shift, Monday – Friday, 8-hour shifts)
