The LPN works collaboratively with providers, registered nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while promoting health and disease prevention throughout the community.</p><br>As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Northeast Health District, you will join a dedicated team of public health professionals committed to protecting and improving the health of Georgia's communities. You will provide compassionate, high-quality patient care while supporting disease prevention, health promotion, and access to essential public health services.<br><br><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt; margin-top: 0" type="disc"><li style="margin: 0">Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, immunizations, and health screenings under the direction of a Registered Nurse or healthcare provider.</li><li style="margin: 0">Educate patients on immunizations, preventive health practices, medications, and follow-up care to support informed healthcare decisions.</li><li style="margin: 0">Assist with patient referrals to healthcare providers and community resources to ensure continuity of care.</li><li style="margin: 0">Perform laboratory testing, collect specimens, and assist with minor clinical procedures in accordance with established protocols.</li><li style="margin: 0">Assist with challenging blood draws and support other clinical staff as needed to ensure efficient patient care.</li><li style="margin: 0">Monitor vaccine storage units by documenting refrigerator and freezer temperatures and assist with vaccine inventory and immunization quality assurance activities as assigned.</li><li style="margin: 0">Support the orientation and training of new clinical staff as assigned.</li><li style="margin: 0">Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the electronic health record.</li><li style="margin: 0">Maintain medical supplies, ensure equipment is properly sterilized, and complete required autoclave spore testing as assigned.</li><li style="margin: 0">Participate in quality improvement initiatives and support public health emergency response activities as needed.</li></ul>Vocational/Technical degree in licensed practical nursing from an accredited college AND current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse AND CPR certification AND completion of all necessary orientation and training for Public Health LPN. No experience required.<br><p style="margin: 0"><br></p><p style="margin: 0"><strong><u>Preferred Qualifications:</u></strong></p><div style="margin: 0"><ul style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li style="margin: 0">One year of clinical nursing experience.</li><li style="margin: 0">Experience in public health, primary care, family planning, immunizations, or women’s health.</li><li style="margin: 0">Experience in performing phlebotomy and specimen collection.</li><li style="margin: 0">Experience using an electronic health record.
