Job description

This is primarily an HR Business Partner role, but it also carries additional responsibilities requiring confidence, subject matter expertise, autonomy, and requires sound judgment, particularly with in-country expertise. Reporting to the People Operations Director, you will own the day-to-day mechanics of how people join, grow, and move through the business, ensuring full compliance with U.S. employment law and working in close partnership with People Business Partners to align U.S. HR operations with global HR initiatives.

You will align U.S. people operations with global frameworks and ways of working, bringing consistency where it matters while reflecting local requirements. You will also play a critical part in translating business strategy into practical people operations solutions. You will guide, support, and develop two People Generalists, providing direction, oversight, and development to ensure delivery.

What you'll do

You will report to the Director, People Operations

  • Ensure legal compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local labor laws and regulatory requirements.
  • Align U.S. HR operations with the global people strategy, ensuring consistency while reflecting local requirements.
  • Manage union relationships and related obligations.
  • Work with People Business Partners to provide expert HR guidance.
  • Improve HR processes, using HRIS and people analytics to improve efficiency, accuracy, and insight.
  • Partner with the Executive Leadership Team, Senior Leadership Team, and other senior leaders to foster an inclusive culture, taking into account organizational values.
  • Develop, implement, communicate, and enforce HR policies following U.S. employment legislation.

Experience that will put you ahead of the curve

  • HR experience in multi-disciplinary HR environments.
  • Experience supporting teams through change and transformation.
  • Experience working in partnership with unions.
  • Experience with HRIS systems (Workday, Dayforce, or similar).
