Position Summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon to join our growing multidisciplinary team at the Augusta Campus. This is a unique opportunity to practice in a collaborative, academic-affiliated environment with access to state-of-the-art facilities and a diverse pediatric population.

The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive surgical and non-surgical care for children with musculoskeletal conditions, from congenital deformities to traumatic injuries. You will work closely with pediatricians, physical therapists, and other specialists to ensure high-quality, family-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric musculoskeletal conditions and injuries.

  • Perform surgical interventions including fracture repair, spinal deformity correction, hip preservation, limb reconstruction, and more.

  • Provide outpatient and inpatient consultative services.

  • Participate in call coverage as part of the orthopedic team.

  • Collaborate with pediatric subspecialties and multidisciplinary teams.

  • Supervise and educate residents, medical students, and advanced practice providers (if applicable).

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based clinical practice.

  • Participate in research and academic activities (optional but encouraged).

Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school.

  • Completion of an ACGME-accredited orthopedic surgery residency.

  • Fellowship training in Pediatric Orthopedic Surgery (required).

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.

  • Eligible for unrestricted Georgia medical license.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
