A Glimpse into Your New Role
As a Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for processing accurate and compliant payroll for Australian-based employees, ensuring all statutory obligations are met. You will work closely with internal teams to maintain payroll records, manage employee entitlements, and assist with payroll reporting and reconciliations.
Your Day Could See You:
Processing end-to-end payroll in compliance with Australian Modern Awards and statutory legislation
Preparing and managing payments for PAYG, payroll tax, and Superannuation Guarantee contributions
Managing employee leave entitlements, ensuring accurate calculations and timely payments
Assisting with month-end payroll reconciliations and financial reporting
Adding and maintaining employee records in the payroll system
Ensuring accurate and timely payroll transactions and addressing discrepancies
Collaborating with internal teams and management to support payroll-related needs
Filing and archiving payroll documentation in accordance with record-keeping requirements
What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy or a related field
3–5 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably for Australian clients
Strong understanding of Australian Modern Awards, tax obligations, and payroll legislation
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Proven ability to investigate payroll issues and implement solutions
Excellent time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated integrity and ability to handle confidential information
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of payroll systems is an advantage
