Payment Operations
Stealth FinTech
Apply to this jobWho Are We
We are a well-funded, early-stage startup in stealth mode, building modern infrastructure to transform B2B payments. We are looking for builders who want to solve complex problems from the ground up.
We are hiring someone to own day-to-day transaction monitoring and reconciliation and grow into a role that shapes how we scale and automate our payments operations function.
About the Role
You will own transaction monitoring, reconciliation, and exception management from day one and over time, grow into oversight of monitoring rules, controls, and exception governance. This role is ideal for someone who thrives as an individual operator and wants to shift into managing processes, agents, and automation rather than just executing tasks.
Location is flexible. This is a full-time role.
Key Responsibilities
Day-One Operations
Transaction monitoring: review and disposition alerts, investigate suspicious activity, and escalate/file where required.
Reconciliation across ledgers, bank/partner statements, and processor reports; resolve breaks.
Settlement tracking and exception management.
Chargeback, dispute, and return handling.
Maintain clear, audit-ready case documentation.
Building Toward Oversight
Spot recurring breaks, manual matching, and repetitive alert patterns that are ripe for automation.
Understand the tooling (auto-matching, anomaly detection, transaction scoring) well enough to see what's possible, not to build it.
Research, survey, and experiment with new tools in the market and understand how to apply them.
Take ownership of how automation is implemented and how efficient it becomes.
Translate operational pain points into clear requirements for the teams building the systems, and give structured feedback confirming automation catches the right things without over-flagging.
Keep transaction and outcome data consistent so it stays usable as tooling matures.
Grow into the monitoring-rules framework and reconciliation control design: defining thresholds, KPIs, and QA sampling, and managing exception governance, root-cause analysis, and process risk; reporting to leadership/auditors and overseeing a team or automated pipeline.
Required Qualifications
An individual operator looking to shift into managing a set of agents; understands the tech needs and what they'll require visibility into as needs shift.
At least 2 years of prior experience in payments or financial services in an Operations role.
Experience with cross-border/FX transactions.
Willingness to learn compliance requirements for other international markets.
Experience building or working with AI tools or training models a plus.
Why Join?
Growth: Start hands-on and grow into monitoring design, automation strategy, and team oversight.
Impact: Shape how payments operations scale at a fast-moving B2B payments company.
Innovation: Work at the intersection of payments operations and AI-enabled automation.
Culture: Join a collaborative team that values curiosity, inclusion, and sustainable work.
We are looking for curious, driven builders who want to create secure, scalable, user-friendly payments products. If you do not meet every qualification but bring initiative and a growth mindset, we encourage you to apply.
We embrace AI as a powerful tool for innovation and welcome team members eager to leverage it in their work. As an equal opportunity employer, we're committed to diversity, inclusion, and creating an environment where everyone can thrive.
