Job Summary
SummaryResponsible for efficiently managing the admission, transfer, and discharge of patients including coordinating bed assignments, ensuring appropriate placement, and optimizing hospital resources to meet patient care needs.

Essential Functions
-Oversee the process of admitting and placing patients in appropriate hospital units or departments based on their medical needs, bed availability, and hospital resources.
-Collaborate with various hospital departments, including nursing units, emergency department, and surgery, to monitor bed availability, occupancy rates, and patient flow.
-Review patient medical records, physician orders, and nursing assessments to determine the level of care required and suitable placement within the hospital.
-Prioritize patient placement based on medical urgency, acuity, and available resources to ensure that critically ill patients receive immediate attention and appropriate care.
-Optimize hospital resources and capacity by balancing patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to maintain efficient patient flow.
-Address challenges related to bed availability, patient needs, and resource constraints to ensure a smooth patient placement process.
