Overview:

Sentara CarePlex Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician for the Medicine Unit.

Shift: Days: - 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM

The Patient Care Technician is an unlicensed staff member who is accountable to and work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to implement delegated aspects of nursing care.

Education: High School/GED Equivalent

Requirements:

One of the following programs is acceptable for education: Graduate of Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, successful completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), National Patient Care Technician (NCPCT), completion of US Navy Hospital Corps School, Emergency Services to include EMR, EMS, EMT, AEMT and Paramedic, or current student enrolled in a clinical program having completed at least one semester of a (RN, LPN, RT or PT) or current work experience within last three years as a PCT or Nursing Assistant.

Unit Description:

The Medicine Unit - 4 James is looking for qualified nurses who will provide care to acute and chronic care patients with a variety of comorbidities from the age of 18 years of age and up, with a special love for our senior population.  We are looking for new grads to seasoned nurses, who are compassionate, dependable, flexible and hardworking.  If this is you, please come and join our 4 James family.
