Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$18.84 - $27.32 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Patient Care Technician
  • Location: Evanston, IL
  • Part time: 16 hours per week (non-benefits eligible)
  • Hours: 1500-2330 and 2300-0730, will include weekend rotation
  • Float: Will float to all units throughout Evanston Hospital if needed

What you will do:

  • Work under the supervision of a RN to deliver patient care on the Postpartum unit
  • Assist with Vital Signs (includes manual blood pressure), 12-Lead EKG, Bladder Ultrasound, Foley catheter and IV adapter removal, sterile specimen collection, bathing, beds, ambulating, turning, hourly rounding, blood glucose, feeding, admitting patients to room, preparing patients for discharge and any other duties delegated by the Registered Nurse
  • Assist with the implementation of a patient specific care plan
  • Participate in other activities which are essential to the functioning of the patient care unit
  • Positively contributing to safety outcomes and promoting high quality patient experience

What you will need:

Education: Completion of an accredited certified nursing assistant (CNA) training course preferred or Completion of at least one nursing clinical rotation in medical or surgical nursing preferred

Certification: Current BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association If BLS certification is not current or does not have certification, required to be obtained within the employee’s introductory period (within 90 days of hire date)

Experience: Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred

Unique or Preferred Skills: Inpatient PCT or maternal child health experience preferred
