Job description

1. Promote a safe, cooperative and professional health care environment to ensure optimum patient care (as per HR Policy 113c).

 

2. Adheres to all hospital policies, procedures, rules and regulations, including but not limited to, absenteeism, ETIME, cellular telephone usage, dress code and rules of conduct.

 

3. Makes Customer Service a priority, treating customers (patients, visitors, and co-workers) in a professional manner exercising courtesy and tact. Effectively communicates with patients and others about SBH services in their area(s) of expertise or responsibility and ensures that concerns, questions or issues reach the right person(s) in SBH in a timely fashion.

 

4-Quality of work: Does work correctly, neatly, thoroughly, completely; is attentive to detail; is concerned with getting job done correctly.

 

5-Productivity: Utilizes time effectively; manages distractions and doesn’t

TASKS

 

1-Answering of the telephone in a timely and courteous manner.

 

2-Check emails daily

 

3-Electronic verification of patient appointments.

 

4-Log in of patients with clinic appointments to corresponding physicians, including using active request/ link referrals.

 

5- Verification and entry of personal and visit data, including obtaining email address, REaL data, gender and emergency contact information.

 

6-Obtain signatures for patients consent, including Bronx RHIO, CareEverywhere, clinical treatment, hipaa and financial consent.

 

7-Verification and entry of insurance information pertaining to patients

   accounts for maximum reimbursement of services rendered and collect and scan insurance card information.

 

8-Verification of insurance pertaining to other Managed Care plans, and

   obtaining approvals and or referrals for the patients visit.

 

9- Completion of the DAR to ensure all activity is reviewed and checklist is complete.

 

10- Reviewing Registration/ billing WQ’s to ensure all accts updated daily.

 

11- Scheduling follow-up appointments electronically and reviewing the APPT WQ’s daily.

 

12- Distribution of metro cards and co-payment collection

 

13- Completion of end of day scheduling process.

 

14- Works closely with Health First, and other managed care plans in coordinating and evaluating the needs of the members, including recertification of coverages.

 

15- Runs daily reports.

 

16-. Multiple clerical functions.

 

17-Performs any other duties as assigned
