Directs the care of the patient through the nursing process and through collaboration with the patient, their family and other health care professionals. Provides leadership to non-licensed staff by setting an example of excellence.

The successful candidate:

  • Must be able to work PRN 7:00a-4:30p/10 hour shifts.

  • Assess patient needs using a holistic approach and monitor changes in condition, communicating updates to physicians and the care team.

  • Develop, coordinate, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans based on assessment findings and interdisciplinary goals.

  • Document care provided and oversee care delivery by unlicensed support staff.

  • Educate and support patients and families regarding disease processes, treatments, side effects, and health promotion to facilitate informed decision-making.

  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and accreditation standards.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development and review of departmental policies and procedures.

  • Obtain and document allergy information, complete medication reconciliation, verify physician orders, and safely administer medications and treatments while monitoring outcomes.

Qualifications

Your qualifications should include:

  • Current Georgia State Registered Nurse License required

  • BSN required or enrolled within 6 months of hire and BSN completed within three years from hire date.

  • Current BLS required (Obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire)

  • Current ACLS required (Obtain AHA certificate within 30 days of hire)

  • Oncology experience preferred

  • Recent ICU and/or OR experience preferred

  • Experience in caring for patients with invasive pressure lines desirable

  • Experience in caring for patients who are on mechanical ventilation desirable
