JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS

The School of Visual Arts in the College of Arts and Architecture invites applications for one or more Part-Time Instructor positions to teach courses in the Bachelor of Design in Digital Multimedia Design (DIGMD) degree for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Digital arts/design courses may include 2D, 3D, interaction design, time-based media, and critical theory. This multidisciplinary online degree is offered in partnership with the Colleges of Communication and Information Science and Technology. The DIGMD degree requires students to apply interdisciplinary digital media knowledge in a range of digital contexts. A Master's degree or enrollment in a Ph.D. program in a relevant field of study is required. Online teaching experience is highly desirable. In addition to teaching, Instructors may be asked to participate in the development of web-based courses.

These are one semester, non-tenure track appointments with the possibility of reappointment. Part-time Instructors will normally teach one to two sections of the course per semester. To learn more about the School of Visual Arts, please visit our website at http://sova.psu.edu.

To be considered for these positions, applications must include a cover letter and curriculum vitae (with the names and contact information of two references). Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the positions are filled.
