The purpose of this position is to supervise, coordinate, and direct the work of professional or non-professional park staff involved in the day-to-day operation, administration, construction, and maintenance of the site. The incumbent of this position demonstrates superior seamless customer service, integrity, and commitment to innovation, efficiency, and fiscally responsible activity.</span></undefined><br><br><p style="margin: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Four years of experience in the operation, administration, or maintenance of parks, outdoor recreation, or historic sites; or in parks or conservation work; OR</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Four years of experience in law enforcement, interpretive services, mobile equipment operation, building construction or maintenance.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.</span></p>The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found <a href="https://apps01.civilservice.louisiana.gov/onestopjobinfo/DisplayJobSpec.aspx?JobCode=175710" target="_blank"><u>here</u>.</a><p style="margin: 15px 0; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><strong style="font-weight: 700"><u>Job Duties:</u></strong></p><ul style="padding-left: 2rem; margin-top: 0; margin-bottom: 3pt; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><li>Oversees the maintenance and care of site facilities. </li><li>Approves and promotes site programming/events. </li><li>Performs regularly scheduled overall park and playground inspections.</li><li>Manages park facility expenditures.</li><li>Coordinates major park maintenance or construction projects with Resource Development staff.</li><li>Works directly with local law enforcement to control violence and vandalism.</li><li>Works with appropriate personnel in other sections and departments and outside contractors regarding major maintenance and development of buildings, water systems, roadways or other facilities. </li><li>Works with neighborhood and community groups on matters of civic, park, and recreational interest. </li><li>Prepares plans, specifications, contract documents, and cost estimates for projects, programs, and equipment.</li><li>Serves as a liaison for the site with outside agencies in matters pertaining to the worksite. </li><li>Prepares and administers site budget.</li><li>Accountable for the collection and deposit of all revenue generated at the site through day use and overnight fees.</li><li>Prepares weekly fiscal, revenue, and visitation reports.</li><li>Coordinates activities by scheduling work assignments, setting priorities, and directing the work of subordinate employees.</li><li>Evaluates and verifies employee performance through the review of completed work assignments, work techniques, and documentation of that performance with the use of the Departmental CPM</li><li>Identifies staff development and training needs and ensures that training is obtained.<br><br></li></ul><p style="margin: 15px 0; color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><strong style="font-weight: 700">Position-Specific Details:</strong><br><strong style="font-weight: 700">Location: </strong>Bayou Segnette State Park in Westwego, LA<strong style="font-weight: 700"> </strong><br><strong style="font-weight: 700">Appointment Type: </strong>Probational, Promotion, or Detail to Special Duty <br><strong style="font-weight: 700">Work Schedule: </strong>State Parks are open 365 days a year. Position will work a rotating schedule of 40 hours/week, which can include holidays and/or weekends as needed, to ensure coverage at the park. <br><strong style="font-weight: 700">Travel: </strong>Position requires driving around the park as part of the daily shift. Travel may be required to other state parks to assist in staffing or events, as needed.
