Below is a list of duties and tasks associated with this position:</p><p style="margin: 5pt 0 10pt">-Plans and directs activities of paint shop trustees as it pertains to painting duties for all buildings on the Department of Public Safety campus. Follows and completes assigned painting work orders including construction; remodeling; repair of building structures; fixtures; metal and wood doors, and other related items, to include all staining, sealing, mud ding, painting, etc. Supervision is exercised over trustees assigned to the Paint shop.</p><p style="margin: 5pt 0 10pt">-Read blueprints to layout work, review drawings, and specifications for a new project. Figure material, equipment, supplies and labor. Incumbent examines specifications from vendors to guarantee that they are fair and in compliance with the purchasing guidelines of the Division of Administration. Inspect all work from vendors to ensure accuracy of completed paint and sheetrock jobs. Surveys assigned jobs and ensures that sufficient and proper materials and tools are on hand to complete tasks.</p><p style="margin: 5pt 0 10pt">-Requisitions supplies and equipment; maintains check on materials requirements and sees to it that supplies are available; estimates cost of jobs and amounts of materials necessary.</p><p style="margin: 5pt 0 10pt">-Advises Maintenance Superintendent on all maintenance and paint problems, as well as progress of ongoing projects.</p><p style="margin: 5pt 0 10pt">-Inspects surfaces for cleanliness and readiness for painting.</p><p style="margin: 5pt 0 10pt">-Assists Maintenance Superintendent in developing policies and procedures as well as establishing painting programs for Facility Services. Maintains cost and time records of projects supervised. Performs other maintenance related duties as assigned by the supervisors.
