Job description

Ground Force/Mega Worldwide of Albuquerque has an amazing opportunity for an outstanding Industrial Painter/Prepper who will work with seamless quality under tight deadlines. Starting Wage $23-$28/hour depending on experience.

Weekend shift (Fri, Sat, Sun; 6 am - 6:30 pm)
36 hour work week, but paid a premium to equal 40 hours.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. At least one year of experience in paint preparation in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
  2. Must be comfortable with heights.
  3. Be able to bend and twist.
  4. Be able to have the face/head and shoulders covered with protective gear.
  5. Be able to deal with strong odors and various temperatures.
  6. Perform other duties, assignments and special projects as assigned.

  • Regularly exposed to various weather conditions including but not limited to: cold, heat, or wet.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.

Interior Painting Hazards Potential for IDLH (Immanent Danger to Life & Health):

 Exposure to high levels of VOC near 1000ppm (Isocyanates) likely.

  • LEL (Lower Explosive limit) @ 0-5% w/ ventilation. Exposure can exceed 10% which is IDLH.
  • CO (Carbon Monoxide) 0-10ppm.
  • High potential for slip, trip, fall hazards as well as all permit required confined space hazards.
  • Exposure time per procedure ranges from 45min – 2.5hours.
  • Exposed to toxic, organic, and inorganic substances.
  • Explosion hazard from solvents and paints.
  • Potential for blasting injuries (Lacerations, Abrasions)
  • Inherent risk of crane operation and normal hazards found in heavy equipment manufacturing

Required Training Provided By Company:

  • Must be able to pass respirator medical clearance and fit-testing procedures as well as knowledge of respiratory hazards and PPE selection criteria OSHA 1910.134
  • Must complete confined space awareness training and annual refresher OSHA 1910.146
  • Complete fall protection training
  • Completed HAZCOM OSHA 1910.1200 awareness training
  • CPR/AED/FA trained and annual refresher

PPE Requirements Include and Provided By Company:

  • Chemical protective garments
  • Full face respirator w/ organic vapor cartridge or supplied air
  • Chemical resistant gloves
