Packing Line Operator

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:

• Previous work experience within production environment will be advantageous

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

• Senior Certificate / Grade 12 /N Courses will be beneficial

PRIMARY FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

• Pack according to customer Specifications; inspect final quality is correct before packing and assist the Machine operator whenever required.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Note: Employee is not subjected to work only on one machine line because they spend most of their time there; the employer or any other senior member may request the employee to assist at any other machine line or department. Safe Work Instruction, User Manual and Risk Assessment training will be performed/communicated beforehand to familiarize yourself with the machine line or department.

• Furthermore, employee shall assist anywhere on the KR site as long as they possess a required qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience to do such tasks safely, legally and to the desired performance standard and has been officially instructed by their line manager, or another senior member (machine operator) of their team, to perform in such an alternative capacity.

• Processing according to customer specifications, correct quality and job card requirements

• Understanding machine capabilities

• Set up and operate machine safely and correctly

• Before packing make sure all material is properly identified and after packing (Labels reflecting the Correct Grade, material type, correct warehouse, material configuration and quality must be recorded)

• Recording of packed production accurately

• Understand the job card

• Before packing make sure you verify the finished product if it corresponds with the job card’s specification, weight, etc.

• Perform quality checks and examine products for defects to ensure customer satisfaction

• Recording of production logs and Data on computer

• Recording of all scrap during processing

• Record all non-conformances via DMS system and notify Supervisor or Production planners.

• Work hand in hand with processing line to achieve the same purpose as to reach daily target. The two lines are prerequisite as they are running in a sequence.

• Proper shift handover must be done

• Recording of pallets and wood used for each order

• Assist during Stock take counts and preparation.
