OT Infrastructure & Tools Engineer 

 

POSITION PURPOSE:

The OT Infrastructure & Tools Specialist will be responsible for managing, supporting and improving critical Operational Technology infrastructure tools used across manufacturing and production environments. The role covers Functional File Transfer, PRTG Monitoring and Acronis Backup platforms, along with the underlying server, network and firewall components required to run these services securely and reliably.

Role Objective: Ensure high availability, secure operations, compliance, timely troubleshooting and proper lifecycle management of OT infrastructure tools and their supporting environments.

 

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Functional File Transfer Administration
  • Configure and maintain various product of OT Primarily Secure file transfer and would also support PRTG, Acronis backup etc globally.
  • Manage workflows, access permissions, automation workflows and operational logs.
  • Troubleshoot failed logs, connectivity issues, permission errors, job scheduling failures and server-side issues.
  • Ensure file transfer setup is aligned with security, audit and change management requirements.
  1. Server Administration
  • Build, configure and maintain Windows and Linux servers used for OT infrastructure tools.
  • Perform operating system installation, hardening, patch coordination, performance tuning and capacity checks.
  • Maintain server availability, services, certificates, scheduled tasks and local security settings.
  • Support physical, virtual and hosted server environments, including VMware or Hyper-V where applicable.
  1. Network & Firewall
  • Understand and support network connectivity requirements for OT tools across production and enterprise zones.
  • Work with network and firewall teams to define, validate and troubleshoot firewall rules and routing requirements.
  • Troubleshoot TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, VPN, RDP/SSH and application connectivity issues.
  • Ensure connectivity is implemented in line with OT network segmentation and security requirements.
  1. Security, Compliance & Continuous Improvement
  • Ensure OT infrastructure tools follow cybersecurity, access control and compliance requirements.
  • Support vulnerability remediation, audit actions, backup validation and security review activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve automation, monitoring, reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Promote disciplined documentation, handover and operational governance across supported services.

Maintain clear operational documentation

 

Qualifications & Experience -

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in IT infrastructure, OT infrastructure, network administration, server administration or technical operations.
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, backup and managed file transfer tools.
  • Strong understanding of Windows Server, basic Linux administration, virtualization and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, pharma, regulated or OT environments will be an added advantage.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, site IT, OT teams, cybersecurity, network, server and vendor teams.
