Job description

At Lumino The Dentists, we’re proud to be New Zealand’s leading dental healthcare provider, trusted by more Kiwis than any other network. With 88% brand awareness and over 120 practices nationwide, we are deeply embedded in communities across the country.

Our commitment is to deliver a superior patient experience and support our teams with advanced technology, clinical training, and professional development, ensuring they remain at the forefront of modern dentistry.

We’re looking for a passionate Oral Health Therapist to join our friendly, patient-focused dental practice in Three Kings, Auckland. You’ll play a vital role in delivering high-quality preventive and therapeutic care to patients of all ages, working alongside a supportive and collaborative dental team.

If you love patient education, take pride in clinical excellence, and want to work in a welcoming environment where your skills truly matter, this could be the role for you.

This is a part-time position, working Mondays and Fridays.

What you’ll be doing

  • Deliver comprehensive oral health assessments and personalised treatment plans
  • Provide preventive care including scaling, polishing, fluoride treatments and oral health education
  • Empower patients with practical advice on hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention
  • Maintain accurate electronic patient records and uphold best-practice infection control
  • Support smooth patient flow and contribute to a calm, reassuring experience—especially for anxious patients
  • Work closely with dentists and the wider team to deliver outstanding, coordinated care

To be successful in this role, you will need to hold unrestricted registration as an Oral Health Therapist (or equivalent) with the Dental Council of New Zealand, along with a current Annual Practicing Certificate (or the ability to obtain one).

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be passionate about patient education: Share your expertise to empower patients in achieving optimal oral health.

  • Excel in building strong patient relationships: Provide clear guidance and foster trust through effective communication.

  • Be a collaborative team player: Contribute positively to our practice's supportive and friendly environment.

  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail: Ensure precision in all aspects of clinical care.
