This role will build leadership abilities alongside developing analytical and communication skills.

As a Supply Chain Operations Manager in Training, you will gain firsthand experience in our FC/DC and develop critical leadership skills utilizing supply chain operations best practices, gaining a full understanding of how we perform behind-the-scenes processes that help keep merchandise flowing seamlessly for our customers.

A day in the life… 

  • Enable your growth by participating in trainings, meetings, and workshops that cultivate leadership and management skills. 
  • Support current Supply Chain Operations Managers in the execution of daily departmental processes to meet goals and objectives. 
  • Rotate between departments, shifts, or buildings to gain deeper understanding of the operation.  
  • Help drive the performance, professional development, and career growth of warehouse associates through coaching and mentorship.   
  • Help build teams by supporting employee selection, onboarding, and training. 
  • Prioritize ongoing safety efforts to ensure all teams are working in a safe manner. 
  • Use data and analysis to improve departmental performance.  
  • Demonstrate good communication to report on KPIs, bridge performance gaps, and track progress on projects and process improvement.  
  • Have exposure to various warehouse systems and continuous improvement processes. 
  • Solve operational issues and regularly partner with Site Support teams such as Human Resources, Safety, Production Control, Inventory, Transportation, etc.  
  • Embody and support Nordstrom core values by bringing your authentic self to work. Embrace diversity while actively contributing to a welcoming and inclusive environment.  
  • Uphold company policies, guidelines and use good judgement in all situations.  
  • Drive KPI metrics as well as 4DX and facility performance scorecards. 

You own this if you have… 

  • 2+ years of warehouse experience in a DC/FC or have a degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management, Business Administration, or related field in lieu of warehouse experience.  
  • Seek a career that combines your fulfillment expertise, love of fashion, and desire to be a people leader. 
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously thanks to your ace organizational, time management skills, and teamwork experience. 
  • Have strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Are proficient in Microsoft Office with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.  
  • Are able to repetitively bend, reach, stand, walk, and lift 50lb boxes without difficulty. 
  • Can work full-time on site at FC/DC. 
  • Are able to relocate during or after the program for rotational development and promotional opportunities.  
  • Have the flexibility to work across various schedules including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends to understand our 24/7 operations.
