Job Description:

Operations Management Specialist 

 

The OMS (Operations Management Specialist) ensures smooth operations by effectively communicating with customers, drivers, and management. At UPS, the OMS serves as the primary point of contact for drivers, ensuring they have all the necessary information to make deliveries efficiently. This role involves coordinating driver schedules, managing logistics, handling real-time issues that arise during deliveries, and maintaining accurate records of dispatch activities. The OMS also monitors delivery progress, addresses any delays or problems, and provides support to drivers to ensure timely and efficient service. 

 

Job Type: Part-Time Permanent 

Work Location: 559 WILSEY ROAD, FREDERICTON, NB E3B 7K1, Canada

Workdays: Monday through Friday (5 days a week) 

Shift Start:  8 AM to 1 PM * (Flexibility with start and finish times required based on operational needs) * 

Shift Duration: 5-hour shift  

Hourly Wage: 21.10 $

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Oversee and monitor the Package Center Information System (PCIS) to ensure accurate and timely operations 

  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns with professionalism and efficiency 

  • Manage and resolve driver requests and issues, providing timely support to facilitate smooth operations 

  • Coordinate and dispatch drivers for customer pick-up requests, ensuring timely and efficient service 

  • Uphold the confidentiality of all internal systems, reports, and personnel information 

  • Responsible for ensuring the accurate submission of employee timecards on weekly basis    

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment 

 

REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to lift up to 40+ lbs. (18+ kg) unassisted. Typical package weight ranges from 25-35 lbs.  

  • High school diploma, GED, or international equivalent 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills  

  • Typing speed of 30+ words per minute with 90% accuracy  

  • Strong proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software  

  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to different systems 

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision  

  • Strong skills in analytical thinking, problem-solving, basic research, attention to detail, and time management 

  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment 

  • Availability to work flexible shifts up to 5 days per week
