About EPG (Equipment Product Group)
Equipment Product Group (EPG) is a business unit within Applied Materials' WWO (Worldwide Operations) organization. EPG focuses on the manufacturing, refurbishment, upgrade, and lifecycle support of semiconductor equipment, particularly 200mm and legacy platforms. The team works closely with global customers to improve equipment productivity, extend tool life, and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead quality investigations and CAPA activities to drive effective corrective and preventive actions.
2. Perform root cause analysis and coordinate cross-functional resolution of customer, manufacturing, supplier, and operational quality issues.
3. Manage customer quality escalations and serve as the primary quality interface between customers and internal teams.
4. Implement containment actions and support disposition of nonconforming products when required.
5. Develop and maintain quality standards, procedures, inspection methods, and quality documentation in accordance with company and customer requirements.
6. Analyze product, process, reliability, and operational data to identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.
7. Review engineering drawings, specifications, qualification results, and engineering changes to ensure quality compliance and assess quality impact.
8. Participate in quality-related meetings, including MRB, QBR, Audit Reviews, and other cross-functional forums, to support decision-making and organizational alignment.
9. Support internal, customer, and certification audits, and drive closure of audit findings.
10. Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational performance.
11. Collaborate effectively with global teams across multiple time zones to support business objectives and operational priorities.
Role Requirement
1 Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
2 5+ years of experience in semiconductors engineering experience, equipment/hardware/customer support/field service is highly preferred.
3 Tool experience: EPI equipment is highly preferred
4 Proven experience leading factory-based quality projects and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
5 Experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing, customer support, field service, supplier quality, or related industries is preferred.
6 Strong technical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills for complex technical and quality-related issues.
7 Experience managing customer escalations and leading issue resolution across multiple organizations.
8 Ability to assess technical, operational, quality, and customer impacts when making quality-related decisions.
9 Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, process documentation, and quality requirements.
10 Familiarity with engineering change management processes and quality impact assessment.
11 Knowledge of quality tools and methodologies, including 8D, CAPA, FMEA, SPC, MSA, Control Plan, Reliability Analysis, and Statistical Data Analysis.
12 Experience supporting or leading ISO quality system activities is a plus.
13 Strong English communication, presentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
14 Experience working in cleanroom manufacturing or customer fab environments is preferred.
