In this position... 

The Occupational Health Nurse works under close supervision and supports Physicians and managers by assisting in administering treatments, physical examinations, initial injury intake and triage, and diagnostic tests. They perform basic medical care functions with diligence and consistency, adhering to schedules. Additionally, the role assists in the administration of company policies and procedures related to maintaining the medical recordkeeping system, including employee health records, medical leave of absence, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with relevant Federal and State regulations, as well as Ford Company standards and policies.

 

This is a union-represented salaried position.

Overtime may be required, both during the workweek and on weekends, and is scheduled and paid in compliance with contractual and Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) requirements.

What you'll do...

  • Provide health services and administer surveillance evaluations to company employees, recording observations, assessments, and treatments in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform routine nursing tasks associated with medical screenings related to Federal regulations and company standards. Collect appropriate samples and specimens from patients and perform hearing, vision, and pulmonary screening following clinical protocols.
  • Monitor patient vitals, behaviors, and assist in medical emergencies that may occur on company premises such as accidents, injuries, sudden illnesses, etc. Follow established policies and procedures, identify roadblocks, and effectively communicate issues to the medical team’s attention.
  • Communicate health screening results and physical rehabilitation program information to patients requiring treatment.
  • Assist with medication administration while managing medication protocols. 
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records, including use of an electronic medical record system, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Support emergency procedures preparation and adherence to infection control practices.
  • Provide patient-centered care with empathy, kindness, and professionalism. 
  • Work all shifts as needed, weekends as needed

C Crew Days: Monday 5:00 am-3:30 pm; Friday 5:00 am-3:30 pm; Saturday 6:00 am-6:00 pm; Sunday 6:00 am-6:00 pm

C Crew Nights: Monday 5:00 pm-3:30 am; Friday 5:00 pm-3:30 am; Saturday 6:00 pm-6:00 am; Sunday 6:00 pm-6:00 am  

C Crew Flip: Monday 4:00 pm-4:00 am; 5:00 am-3:30 pm; Saturday 5:00 pm-3:30 am; Sunday 5:00 pm-3:30 am
 

 

This position...

  • Involves occasional lifting of 10 to 25 pounds, frequent walking and standing, and sedentary work. Occasional work in areas with moderate noise levels and exposure to varying temperatures.

 

You'll have...

  • Associate’s degree in nursing
  • 2+ years of experience in occupational health nursing or a related area such as urgent care, emergency room, or adult medical/surgical nursing
  • Registered Nurse
  • Unrestricted state licensure in the state of practice
  • Current BLS Certification required before start date
