Let’s Talk about the Role

The O&M Operations Shift Team Leader will oversee the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facility.

You will lead the shift operations team, ensuring the plant remains in a high state of readiness for grid dispatch. By enforcing rigorous safety standards and managing the transition from standby to generation, you will act as the primary operational point of contact for grid authorities, ensuring that our energy systems perform at their peak to meet real-time demand.

How You Will Make a Difference

  • Directing daily shift operations to ensure the plant maintains a high state of readiness for rapid grid dispatch.

  • Leading the execution of start-up sequences and performance testing in strict accordance with grid code and manufacturer requirements.

  • Enforcing rigorous safety protocols, including work permit systems and equipment isolation procedures, to maintain an incident-free environment.

  • Managing the shift team by fostering a culture of operational discipline, technical proficiency, and safety awareness.

  • Collaborating with engineering teams to swiftly resolve equipment anomalies and optimize plant performance.

  • Serving as the primary liaison with the National Control Centre to report on availability and operational status.

Special Role Requirements

  • Willing to work a full shift rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to spend time away from home for training and field assignments as required.

Skills for Success

You should be a decisive operational leader with:

  • The ability to manage complex power plant operations within a control room setting.

  • The capability to make critical decisions under pressure during time-sensitive grid events.

  • An understanding of engineering practices, safety regulations, and environmental permits inherent to power plant operations.

  • An expertise in control systems and human-machine interface technologies.

  • A keen interest in mentoring team members and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

A formal education in Engineering is nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience, technical background, and professional achievements in industrial or power station operations.
