The hospital is highly committed to cooperative work with other state agencies and with the state and regional mental health program to ensure the integration and coordination of hospital-community services into a comprehensive system of mental health care.</p><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Four years of experience in patient care; OR</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Possession of a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate or graduation from an Emergency Medical Technician Program plus two years of experience in patient care; OR</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">Completion of an accredited registered or practical nursing program plus one year of experience in patient care.</span><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><br style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0"><span style="color: inherit; font-style: normal; text-indent: 0">NOTE: Positions at facilities receiving certain Medicaid or Medicare funds require that applicants possess a current Certified Nursing Assistant certificate.</span><p style="margin: 5pt 0 10pt; text-align: justify">The official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found <a href="https://apps01.civilservice.louisiana.gov/onestopjobinfo/DisplayJobSpec.aspx?JobCode=176512"><u>here</u></a>.</p><u>JOB DUTIES</u><br>- Serves as lead supervisor for Nursing Assistant Supervisor 1 positions and other subordinate staff providing therapeutic and environmental care of patients on units.<br>- Prepares daily work schedules and assigns basic work duties to care for patients and staff.<br>- Ensures that appropriate assignments are made and completed.<br>- Monitors staff compliance with facility policies and procedures, ensuring patients receive adequate care in a safe and sanitary environment.<br>- Communicates progressive information regarding performance of Nursing Assistant Supervisor 1 and Nursing Assistants to administrative personnel.&nbsp;<br>- Assist in emergency situations.
