Job Description

The Non-Affiliated Student Technician position will care for plant stock used in experiments and insect colonies.


Responsibilities:

  • Water plants as needed.
  • Sow and transplant vegetable plants used in experiments.
  • May assist with the maintenance of whitefly, thrips, aphid, ladybug, and big-eyed bug colonies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work outdoors in hot weather.

Other Requirements:

This position requires performing physical work outdoors including plant care tasks in hot, humid, and occasionally adverse weather conditions.
