Job description

Role Summary

We are looking for a Naval Architect to join the Naval Architecture Department with a strong focus on weight control, weight measurements, and stability support across multiple yacht projects.

The role combines office-based engineering work with hands-on shipyard involvement. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate weight data, supporting stability and performance calculations, and developing a structured weight-control process from early design through production and delivery.

This position is suitable for someone who is practical, accurate, and willing to work closely with Engineering, Production, Procurement, Composite Department, and suppliers to obtain reliable technical information.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain weight calculations, weight reports, and weight budgets for each project.
  • Track project weight development against the approved lightship weight budget.
  • Perform regular weight measurements during the production process.
  • Build and maintain a central database of equipment, materials, and verified component weights.
  • Collect and coordinate weight input from Engineering, Production, Procurement, Composite Department, and suppliers.
  • Verify production execution against drawings, plans, and composite construction details where relevant to weight control.
  • Identify deviations during production and assess their impact on vessel weight, stability, and performance.
  • Support stability calculations, performance predictions, and certification-related calculations.
  • Develop practical procedures, templates, and reporting tools for weight control across future projects.
  • Follow each project series and build number throughout production to maintain a clear overview of weight status and progress

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
  • Good understanding of composite materials and yacht construction.
  • Experience with weight control, stability, or production follow-up is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of naval architecture principles, including stability, hydrodynamics, and basic structural analysis.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Rhino, SolidWorks, or similar.
  • Strong Excel skills for calculations, tracking sheets, databases, and reporting.
  • Experience with Maxsurf Stability or similar stability software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in calculations.
  • Clear communication skills with technical and production teams.
  • Practical mindset with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to follow up actively with departments and suppliers to obtain accurate information.

Benefits

Work Environment

This is a shipyard-based role involving both office work and regular visits to production areas.

The candidate will be expected to inspect construction progress, take measurements onboard, verify weights, and coordinate directly with production teams. A hands-on approach and interest in the actual yacht-building process are important for this position.

Opportunity

The company has multiple yacht series in design and production, giving the candidate strong exposure to real shipyard operations and hands-on yacht construction.

This role offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience across different project types, understand the full yacht-building process from design to delivery, and contribute directly to improving the company’s weight-control, stability, and production-monitoring systems.

What We Offer:

·       Competitive salary and benefits package

·       Opportunity to work on innovative and sustainable projects

·       Supportive and growth-oriented work environment

·       Exposure to international standards and advanced technologies
