About the Role
Forvia’s Interiors Division is seeking an experienced and business-oriented Mexico Legal & Compliance Manager to lead the legal and compliance function for our Mexican operations. This is a highly visible role that serves as a trusted advisor to business leadership while partnering closely with legal, compliance, HR, finance, operations, and commercial teams across North America.
The successful candidate will provide practical legal guidance, oversee compliance initiatives, manage disputes and external counsel, and help drive business objectives while protecting the company's interests and values.
This position offers the opportunity to work on complex commercial matters, corporate transactions, regulatory issues, compliance initiatives, labor and employment matters, and strategic projects within a global automotive technology company.
Your mission, roles and responsibilities
Legal Leadership
- Serve as the primary legal advisor for the operations of the Forvia Interiors Division in Mexico.
- Provide practical, business-focused legal counsel to management and functional leaders on a broad range of commercial and operational matters.
- Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide variety of agreements, including customer, supplier, procurement, logistics, technology, service, and confidentiality agreements.
- Identify legal and commercial risks and develop practical solutions that support business objectives while appropriately managing risk.
- Advise on strategic transactions, including acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings, integrations, and other corporate initiatives.
- Manage litigation, disputes, government inquiries, and claims, including oversight of external counsel and legal budget management.
- Support corporate governance activities for Mexican legal entities, including board, shareholder, and corporate secretarial matters.
- Provide guidance on labor and employment issues in collaboration with Human Resources and Industrial Relations teams.
- Partner with global legal colleagues to ensure alignment with company policies and strategic objectives.
Compliance Leadership
- Lead and promote a strong culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance across Mexican operations.
- Implement and monitor the Company's global compliance program and adapt it to local regulatory requirements and business needs.
- Advise management on compliance risks, regulatory developments, and emerging legal trends.
- Support investigations, whistleblower reports, and ethics concerns, ensuring timely and appropriate resolution.
- Conduct compliance risk assessments and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
- Review and address potential conflicts of interest and other ethics-related matters.
- Develop and deliver compliance training and awareness programs for employees and management.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and internal controls.

Required
- Law degree from an accredited university and license to practice law in Mexico.
- Minimum 10 years of legal experience, including significant experience in commercial transactions and corporate matters.
- Experience gained in a multinational company, top-tier law firm, or a combination of both.
- Strong understanding of Mexican commercial, corporate, labor, compliance, and regulatory laws.
- Excellent contract drafting, negotiation, and risk assessment skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced, international environment.
Preferred
- Experience in the automotive, manufacturing, or industrial sectors.
- Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and post-acquisition integration efforts.
- Compliance, ethics, or investigations experience.
- Experience working with global teams and cross-border matters.
