Job Description:

  • Maintains and performs daily quality assurance checks on imaging equipment.
  • Sets up and adjusts equipment according to protocol, radiologist instructions, and procedure requirements.
  • Accepts and assesses patients to determine proper handling and special requirements.
  • Explains and prepares patients for the requested exam.
  • Administers and assists in the administration of various chemical substances to enhance imaging of specific organs or systems.
  • Reviews patient charts and requests with the radiologist to ensure proper examination and diagnostic results.
  • Performs quality control all images, maintains inventory, and adheres to safety regulations. Participates in training department personnel, including students.
  • Utilizes extensive knowledge of anatomy and physiology to obtain maximum diagnostic images.
  • Attends required safety training programs and understands responsibilities related to general and job-specific safety.
  • Follows hospital exposure control plans for bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
  • Receives and reviews requests for CT/Diagnostic Imaging scan studies.
  • Performs some clerical work. Other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to communicate (verbal and written) effectively and document information accurately. [Required]

  • Ability to remain calm and focused during in stressful and/or emotionally charged situations. [Required]
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to be highly detail oriented. [Required]
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with a patient centric approach. [Required]
  • Basic hands-on computer knowledge and MSOffice applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). [Required]
  •  Working knowledge of EMR is an asset [Required]


Education:

  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
  •  Associate degree [Preferred]


Field of Study:

  • N/A


Work Experience:

  • 1+ ct experience [Preferred]
  • 1+ radiologic experience [Required]

Additional Information:

  • 1 hour of Hip & Knee Surgery Education within 6 months of hire date
  • Additional licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located. Please consult the relevant credential grid for detailed information regarding these requirements


Licenses and Certifications:

  • Registered Technologist – Radiography RT(R)(ARRT) [Required]
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Pay Range:

$32.53 - $60.50
