Job Summary
The Morning Care Assistant provides a safe, welcoming, and nurturing environment for students before the start of the school day. This individual is responsible for supervising students, facilitating quiet activities, maintaining a positive atmosphere, and ensuring a smooth transition to classrooms while supporting the mission and values of the school.
Job Responsibilities
- Supervise students during morning care hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Welcome students and families with a warm, friendly, and professional demeanor.
- Monitor student behavior and encourage respectful, kind, and responsible interactions.
- Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities such as reading, drawing, puzzles, or quiet games.
- Maintain a calm, organized, and structured environment that prepares students for the school day.
- Coordinate a smooth transition of students to teachers or classroom aides at the beginning of the school day.
- Follow all school safety policies and procedures and promptly report concerns or incidents to school administration.
- Maintain accurate daily attendance records.
- Communicate professionally and effectively with parents, faculty, and school leadership.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working with children in a school, daycare, church, or similar setting preferred.
- Ability to supervise and manage groups of children in a calm, positive, and effective manner.
- Dependable, patient, and personable with strong communication skills.
- Practicing Catholic preferred. Candidates of other faiths are welcome and must be respectful of and supportive of the school's Catholic mission and values.
