Job description

Job Summary

The Morning Care Aide is responsible for providing a safe, welcoming, and structured environment for students before the start of the school day. This position supervises students during morning care, promotes positive behavior, and supports the mission and values of the Catholic school by fostering a caring and respectful atmosphere.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise students during designated morning care hours, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Welcome students and families in a warm, friendly, and professional manner.
  • Monitor student behavior and encourage respectful, responsible, and Christ-centered interactions.
  • Plan and facilitate age-appropriate activities, including reading, drawing, quiet games, and other supervised enrichment activities.
  • Maintain a calm, organized, and structured environment that prepares students for a successful school day.
  • Ensure a smooth and orderly transition of students to teachers or classroom aides at the start of the instructional day.
  • Follow all school safety policies, emergency procedures, and student supervision protocols.
  • Promptly report accidents, injuries, behavioral concerns, or other issues to school administration.
  • Maintain accurate daily attendance records for students participating in morning care.
  • Communicate professionally and courteously with parents, faculty, staff, and school administration.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.

Job Requirements

  • Previous experience working with children in a school, daycare, parish, or similar educational setting preferred.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and manage groups of children in a positive and respectful manner.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Dependable, patient, friendly, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
