KBR is seeking a Mission Assurance Engineer to join a high-performing team supporting mission-critical space and missile mission programs. This role is pivotal in ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of space-based systems from design through testing and final delivery. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in mission assurance processes, configuration and data management, and space flight production and verification environments.

Work Environment:

  • Location: On-site Full-Time (Washington, DC)

  • ravel Requirements: Up to 25%

  • Working Hours: 1st Shift

Basic Compensation:

$122,800 – $162,800 annually
The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, as well as internal parity considerations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform parts control analysis and procurement reviews for mission-critical components.

  • Verify the integrity and compliance of purchased products with specifications.

  • Maintain and analyze large sets of configuration and traceability data.

  • Review and approve Change Control Notices (CCNs) and Engineering Review Notices (ERNs).

  • Support product and test verification efforts across engineering disciplines.

  • Evaluate and improve procedures and processes related to build and test environments.

  • Interface with engineering, quality, and systems teams to ensure compliance with MA standards and mission objectives.

Required:

  • Active Secret clearance is required for consideration.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.

  • 10+ years of experience in mission assurance, with emphasis on space-related systems.

  • Hands-on experience in quality assurance related to the production and testing of space-based hardware.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage and analyze configuration and traceability documentation.

  • Strong knowledge of space systems engineering standards and practices.

  • Proficient in designing and testing software tools relevant to the aerospace industry.

Preferred:

  • 3+ years of direct experience in space-based systems engineering roles.

  • Familiarity with Systems Engineering Lifecycle for orbital and launch systems.

  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Digital Engineering methodologies.
