Role Overview

The primary responsibility of the Microbiologist II is to perform microbiological testing and related laboratory activities, including the execution and support of assays and assay qualifications, to support the Environmental Monitoring and Microbiology departments and facilitate final product release.

  
Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM; Monday to Friday; On-site  
Reports to: Associate Manager, Environmental Monitoring 
Location: 13203 Murphy Road Suite 100 Stafford, TX 77477 


 

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA or BS in any science related field

  • Minimum of 2+ years experience in a regulated laboratory environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BA or BS in Biology, Biological Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Biomedical Science/ Engineering.

  • Contain laboratory skills including microscopy, visual inspection, sterility, endotoxin, mycoplasma, and microbial identification.

  • Experience in environmental monitoring programs for the support of drug product manufacture. 

  • Experience in writing assay qualifications, deviation reports, standard operational procedures, laboratory investigations, corrective actions and change controls.

In this role you will:

  • Assist in matrix verifications per USP and EP guidelines for respiration-based sterility. 

  • Perform microbial media release testing through Growth Promotions. 

  • Coordinate and perform Microbial Identifications and assist in organism retention program. 

  • Assist and write study reports and discrepancy reports to establish assay matrix qualifications. 

  • Assist in limit of detection studies for the respiration-based sterility platform.

  • Perform the quality control of iaseptic process simulations. 

  • Write and revise standard operating procedures and laboratory investigations.

Travel required: Less than 10%
