Job Description Summary

MEP Project Manager will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works for projects in Japan, ensuring quality, safety, compliance, and on-time execution. This role works closely with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to manage project risks, drive stakeholder alignment, and support efficient end-to-end project delivery.

About the Role:

  • Lead MEP project delivery across planning, coordination, execution, and closeout for projects in Japan
  • Strong management of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works, ensuring quality, compliance, and alignment with project requirements
  • Effective coordination of consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders to maintain project timelines and delivery standards
  • Proactive risk, issue, and change management, including escalation, mitigation planning, and resolution of technical or delivery challenges
  • Solid knowledge of Japan building regulations, statutory requirements, safety standards, and permit or approval processes relevant to MEP works
  • End-to-end project oversight, including review of drawings, technical submittals, procurement coordination, testing, commissioning, and handover activities
  • Strong stakeholder collaboration, working closely with clients, project teams, landlords, suppliers, and regional partners to ensure smooth delivery
  • Disciplined budget, reporting, and schedule management to support efficient and transparent project execution

About You:

  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in MEP project management, building services, construction, or infrastructure delivery
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Proven track record of managing MEP scope across complex commercial, industrial, or mission-critical projects
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across design, installation, testing, and commissioning
  • Familiarity with Japan codes, compliance requirements, contractor management, and local project delivery practices
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across internal teams, consultants, and external vendors
  • Business-level Japanese and English language capability preferred for project coordination and reporting
  • Proficiency in project management, reporting, and documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, scheduling platforms, and construction management systems
  • Proven problem-solving, coordination, and risk management capability in fast-paced project environments
