Description
Position Purpose:
The Telemarketing Insurance Sales Representative is responsible for selling a Medicare insurance products through outbound and inbound telemarketing calls. This role involves identifying potential customers, explaining the features and benefits of the insurance products, and closing sales to meet or exceed sales targets.
Logistics:
This is a full-time position working (40-hours/week) Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm working on-site at 4101 Percival Rd. Columbia SC, in an office environment.
What You Will Do:
- Place and answer (inbound and outbound) telephone calls from/to potential customers.
- Assist with decisions regarding plans and products.
- Follow up/through on leads provided.
- Generate letters to prospective customers.
- Process applications and prepare marketing/information packets.
To Qualify for This Position, You Will Need:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Working knowledge of word processing software.
- Good judgment skills.
- Effective presentation skills.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective organizational skills.
- Software and Other Tools: Microsoft Office.
- Licenses and Certifications: Department of Insurance Licensure must be obtained within 60 days of hire in state employed. American Health Insurance Professionals Certification for Medicare within 90 days of hire.

- Education Level and Degree Type: Bachelor's Degree.
- Work Experience: 6-months sales experience.
- Working knowledge of spreadsheet and database software.
- Effective customer service skills.
- Analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to persuade, negotiate, or influence others.
- Software and Other Tools: Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Access, or other spreadsheet/database software.
Work Environment: Typical office environment.
