Job description

Support veteran-focused outpatient care where accurate scheduling, coordinated patient communication, and efficient healthcare administration help Veterans access the care they need while supporting smooth clinic operations.

At International SOS Government Medical Services, you'll support healthcare programs that improve patient care and operational readiness across the U.S. and internationally. Founded in 1984, International SOS operates in more than 90 countries, delivering healthcare, medical assistance, emergency response, and workforce support services worldwide.

You'll help Veterans access timely healthcare by coordinating appointments, referrals, and community care services while supporting daily clinic operations within a structured outpatient environment. Working alongside providers and interdisciplinary healthcare teams, you'll help ensure patients receive coordinated care while maintaining accurate scheduling, documentation, and communication throughout the care process.

Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM-4:30 PM | Federal Holidays Off

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate patient appointments, consults, referrals, and follow-up activities while ensuring scheduling practices align with established scheduling procedures and community care processes.
  • Support Veterans, providers, and interdisciplinary care teams by managing patient communications, answering inquiries, updating demographic information, and facilitating timely coordination of care.
  • Maintain accurate electronic patient records by processing healthcare documentation, managing referrals, updating appointment status, and utilizing VA healthcare information systems to support continuity of care.
  • Monitor daily clinic workflow by supporting clinic operations, patient check-in, opening and closing clinic activities, managing incoming communications, and helping resolve scheduling or operational issues.
  • Deliver professional customer service while handling sensitive patient information in accordance with privacy, confidentiality, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Collaborate with clinic leadership and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to maintain efficient clinic operations while supporting compliance with established operational and quality standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 50 words per minute.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card holder required; ability to obtain and maintain a VA Public Trust Clearance.
  • Ability to work in an office environment, including prolonged sitting and standing and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds.
