Medical Assistant - Laboratory

Position Summary 
The Medical Assistant- Laboratory will be responsible for providing basic laboratory screening, maintaining laboratory 
records, collecting and submitting laboratory specimens. 
Schedule: 
 Flexible, may require some evening and weekends 
Primary Duties and Responsibilities 
 Perform venipuncture and related duties. 
 Collect blood specimens by venous and capillary puncture. 
 Draw blood ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and protocols. 
 Label specimens accordingly, centrifuge, prepare specimens as required by test order, and package specimens for 
transport. 
 Maintain records in an accurate and complete manner. 
 Strict adherence to the policy and procedure manual. 
 Keeps lab area neat and clean. Disposes of biohazard containers when scheduled. 
 All other duties as assigned.
