Job description

Gastro Health is seeking a Full-Time Medical Assistant to join our team!

Duties you will be responsible for:

  • Float between the Fremont and Northgate clinics as needed to support staffing and patient care needs
  • Greet and room patients, ensuring appropriate patient flow
  • Update patients' medical charts with accurate and timely documentation, including data entry
  • Work closely with providers to support efficient clinic operations and patient care
  • Manage phone triage and take appropriate action under the direction of the provider
  • Demonstrate appropriate technical skills when administering treatments and procedures in accordance with physician orders
  • Provide patient education and direct patient care to promote comfort, well-being, and address physiological and psychological needs
  • Process prescription refill requests under the direction of providers and in accordance with clinic protocols
  • Assist with maintaining and updating the Recall Smartsheet to support patient follow-up and continuity of care
  • Demonstrate positive interpersonal relationships when working with fellow clinic employees, managers, providers, and patients
  • Take direction and proactively perform cross-functional duties to ensure seamless patient care and clinic operations
  • Follow safety procedures in compliance with OSHA and state health department guidelines

          Minimum Requirements:

          • High school diploma or GED equivalent
          • 2+ years' experience as Medical Assistant preferred
          • Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA) preferred
