Medical Assistants (MA) in the medical office setting supports providers by delivering direct and indirect patient care in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner. The MA may assist with clinical procedures, maintains accurate documentation, and provides administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. The MA functions within their defined scope of practice (based on office type clinic/HOD), under supervision, and in alignment with Mercy's mission and standards of care.

Position Details:

Overview:

  • Collaborates in the workflow of the clinic and the assessment of patient/significant other in a timely, consistent and systematic manner. Documents subjective and objective data according to policy.

  • Demonstrates effective patient safety techniques and infection control.

  • Works as part of the clinic team in an effective and efficient manner to accomplish daily objectives.

Medical Assistant:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Experience:
6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.

Certified Medical Assistant:
Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Certification: Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA). Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire
