Mechanical Project Engineer | Pune | Full-time
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support the design, development, and delivery of advanced Baggage Handling Systems (BHS). The role involves creating 3D conveyor models, coordinating multidisciplinary interfaces, and supporting the full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning, with a strong focus on quality, safety, and efficiency.
What you will do
System & Layout Design
Review and optimize system layouts during sales and engineering phases.
Translate functional requirements into efficient mechanical designs.
Integrate safety, ergonomics, and accessibility into layouts.
Coordinate interfaces with buildings, operators, equipment, and procurement.
3D Modeling, 2D Drafting & Documentation
Create and manage 3D conveyor models based on design inputs.
Develop 2D drawings and maintain consistent design documentation.
Incorporate functional attributes and prepare equipment specifications.
Project Execution & Coordination
Coordinate with steelwork, resale equipment, and building interface teams.
Lead layout engineering teams and liaise with clients and suppliers.
Support site activities including installation files, test plans, and as-built documentation.
Planning & Budgeting
Estimate timelines, resources, and budgets for mechanical scope.
Define mechanical work packages and manage delivery tracking.
Continuous Improvement & Knowledge Sharing
Initiate process improvements and tooling upgrades.
Mentor new engineers and share project learnings.
Collaborate with product managers on design standardization.
What you bring
Technical Skills
Proficiency in AutoCAD (3D modeling and 2D drafting)
Knowledge of SolidWorks and REVIT
Familiarity with MS Office
Conveyor/mechanical system design expertise
