The Radar Mechanical Design Department leads mechanical design, development, and integration of some of the most innovative land-based and shipboard radars in the world. This includes radar systems, hardware integration, electronic modules, pedestal and power and cooling systems. The department is comprised of individuals with technical expertise and experience in hardware design, integration, and production support. The candidate will assist mechanical engineers in the design and/or development of radar system equipment. Key requirements for this position include proven problem-solving skills and interest in hardware design, engineering analysis, and mechanical drawing creation. Engineers will be expected to make sound and comprehensive decisions under the supervision and guidance of senior engineers, working on radar design, electronics packaging, and hardware integration support. 

What You Will Do

  • Training and application of RTX tools including CREO and PDM to perform design tasks
  • Design and Documentation support utilizing engineering tools, Adobe, and MS office suite.
  • Utilize proven problem-solving skills and experience in Engineering Analysis
  • Collaborate with coworkers and various teams in the Radar Design Department to support business objectives of the organization
  • Perform Mechanical Tolerance Analysis using Geometric Dimension and Tolerance best practices

Qualifications You Must Have 

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelors or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and actively enrolled through completion of the internship / co-op session

  • Experience in CAD software

  • Experience in CREO

Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects


Qualifications We Prefer

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in Microsoft Office or other presentation tools
  • Experience developing and delivering presentations (verbal and/or written)

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
