Job description

Customer Interface & Requirement Management

  • Act as the primary mechanical engineering contact for customer discussions and technical reviews.
  • Capture, clarify, and analyze customer requirements and specifications, translating them into clear engineering inputs for globally distributed development teams.
  • Lead mechanical technical discussions during design reviews, development milestones, and issue resolution meetings.
  • Evaluate change requests and assess technical impact on product design, timing, quality, and cost.

Product Ownership & Accountability

  • Take end-to-end ownership of mechanical engineering deliverables for assigned products from concept to production.
  • Drive technical decisions and coordinate cross-functional activities related to mechanical design.
  • Act as the accountable engineering representative for customer mechanical concerns and product maturity.

Thermal & Mechanical Design Support

  • Support mechanical architecture reviews for high-power electronic products with multiple PCBs and complex thermal management concepts.
  • Evaluate thermal interfaces, heat dissipation concepts, housing structures, and packaging constraints.
  • Collaborate with simulation, hardware, system, and manufacturing teams to achieve robust thermal and mechanical performance.

Problem Solving & Issue Resolution

  • Coordinate prototype and sample build activities, supporting customer evaluation and testing.
  • Lead mechanical issue investigations and drive containment, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate global engineering resources to provide timely solutions and support critical customer escalations with strong ownership and urgency.

 

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Hands-on experience with automotive ECU mechanical design, including Zone Control Units (ZCU), Central Vehicle Controllers (CVC), Domain Controllers, or similar products
  • Strong expertise in thermal management, cooling solutions, and high-power electronic enclosure design
  • Proven experience in requirement engineering, test planning, validation processes, and converting customer specifications into engineering requirements
  • Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 and ability to review, interpret, and manage customer drawings, packaging data, and CAD datasets
  • Strong understanding of multi-PCB packaging, thermal interface design, and automotive mechanical design methodologies
  • Experience managing customer requirements, engineering changes, and technical discussions throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional issue resolution and coordinate with global development teams
  • Strong communication skills and proven ownership mindset with accountability for customer satisfaction, product quality, and timely issue resolution
  • Familiarity with automotive standards (e.g., vibration, IP rating, environmental validation) is preferred
