Mechanical Design & Layout Engineer

JBT Marel is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Mechanical Design & Layout Engineer to join our team in Helsingborg, Sweden. In this role, you will play a key part in designing customer factory layouts for freezer projects, supporting both sales and engineering teams in delivering high-quality, technically accurate solutions.

You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including our colleagues in Boxmeer—to ensure layouts meet customer needs, technical requirements, and operational efficiency standards.

What you’ll be doing

• Create and develop 2D factory layouts for customer freezer projects
• Coordinate with Sales and Proposal teams to produce layout drawings and models for bids and customer presentations
• Integrate JBT Marel freezers and related auxiliary equipment into customer factory layouts
• Interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and specifications to ensure accurate design outputs
• Collaborate with engineering, project, and commercial teams to refine layouts and optimize solutions
• Ensure designs align with customer requirements, industry standards, and internal guidelines

Experience & Education

• Proven experience in layout design for industrial equipment, production lines, or process plants
• Proficiency in AutoCAD or a similar CAD tool
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and specifications
• Relevant technical or engineering background is preferred
• Experience working in cross-functional, international environments is an advantage
