Job description

The Gundersen Health System based in La Crosse, Wisconsin is seeking a BC/BE dermatologist to work at its Decorah, IA location. Decorah is a beautiful community located in Northeast Iowa ~90 minutes from La Crosse, WI.  You will join and be well connected with a well-established dermatology team comprised of general/cosmetic/surgical dermatologists and dedicated Mohs surgeons. Our full time position offers a four day workweek. If less than full time is desired, we have a place for you!

Your practice will consist of general medical dermatology with opportunities for dermatologic surgery (regular and cosmetic), within one of the nation’s largest multi-specialty group practices.  Services currently offered include MOHS Surgery, Photodynamic Therapy, PUVA, Broad and Narrow Band UVB, Vascular Laser Treatment and multiple IPL’s.

The Gundersen Health System has over 750 medical, dental, and associate staff and a 325-bed teaching hospital with a Level II trauma and emergency center.  Our medical clinics, rural hospitals, vision centers and other facilities serve a regional population of more than 650,000 in three states.

This unique practice opportunity will allow you to enjoy a balanced lifestyle in the exquisite driftless region of northeast Iowa. A hidden gem that the glaciers missed, leaving hills, rivers and bluffs for outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy. Recreational opportunities include hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, fly fishing, bird (especially bald eagle) watching and more! If you have an interest in all things Norwegian, craft beer, a quaint, historic downtown - this is the place for you!

Our compensation and loan forgiveness packages, retirement plan and CME opportunities are very competitive.

Must have completed an accredited graduate medical training program and be board certified or eligible within the area of medicine stated.   In addition, must have or be able to obtain a license to practice in our multi-state region with no restrictions or limitations.  Medical staff in our system will supervise advanced practice clinicians.   Medical staff may need to provide outreach service as part of their role in the system.  Teaching students, residents, fellows or clinical staff is cornerstone to our Medical Education philosophy and an expectation of all medical staff.
