Job description
Materials, Quality, and Compliance Specialist We are looking for a hands-on technical individual with strong potential to grow into a future Quality Control leadership role. This position will focus on evaluating raw materials, chemicals, polyester, adhesives, coatings, and other production inputs to determine whether they are suitable, balanced, and reliable for our manufacturing process. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical mindset, a quality-focused background, and the ability to work directly on the production floor.  This is not a desk-only role.  This person must be comfortable running trials, reviewing material performance, troubleshooting production issues, documenting results, and helping build practical QC systems that support real manufacturing conditions. This role will support material qualification, new product development, UL testing, process improvement, and the continued development of quality control standards.  Over time, this person will be trained and developed to take on greater responsibility within the Quality Control department. Key Responsibilities ·         Evaluate new and existing materials, including chemicals, polyester, adhesives, coatings, and related production inputs. ·         Determine whether materials are properly balanced and suitable for the manufacturing process. ·         Support the development and improvement of QC procedures, inspection standards, testing methods, and acceptance criteria. ·         Assist with new product development by searching, testing, and qualifying new materials. ·         Work with production, engineering, QC, and machinery design teams to develop or improve manufacturing processes. ·         Participate in production trials, material testing, process validation, and corrective  actions. ·         Support UL testing protocols, sample preparation, test documentation, and compliance-related follow-up. ·         Review material and process changes for potential impact on UL compliance and product performance. ·         Maintain documentation for QC procedures, product testing, material approvals, and compliance records. ·         Analyze quality and process data to identify trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities. ·         Help train production and QC personnel on inspection methods, material requirements, and UL-related checks. ·         Develop the skills and knowledge needed to eventually move into a QC management role. Ideal background The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment with a technical understanding of materials, process quality, and compliance testing.  Experience with chemicals, polymers, polyester, fiberglass, adhesives, coatings, insulation, flexible duct, textiles, plastics, or similar materials is preferred. This person should be hands-on, curious, detail-oriented, and capable of learning both the technical side of materials and the leadership side of quality control. Preferred Qualifications ·         Hands-on technical manufacturing background ·         Experience in quality control, material testing, material qualification, or process improvement. ·         Exposure to UL protocols, UL audits, product certification, or third-party testing preferred. ·         Ability to assist in developing QC procedures, testing standards, and work instructions. ·         Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills. ·         Interest and ability to grow into a future QC leadership role. Summary This role is for someone who can grow into a bridge between materials, quality, compliance production and engineering.  The right candidate will be technically strong, hands-on, process-minded, and willing to learn the business from the ground up with the long-term goal of becoming a leader within Quality Control.
