  • Design and optimize Fe-based soft magnetics, amorphous, and nanocrystalline alloy powders for high‑frequency inductors.
  • Engineer surface treatments to develop organic and inorganic coating chemistries to improve the materials performance.
  • Engineer particle size distribution, morphology, and microstructure to meet electrical and thermal performance targets.
  • Conduct alloying, doping, and compounding studies to tune permeability, coercivity, losses and saturation flux density.
  • Perform magnetic characterization (VSM, B‑H loops, AC loss) and correlate results with component performance.
  • Collaborate with electrical design teams to co‑optimize materials with the desired component architectures.
  • Lead root‑cause analysis for material‑related reliability issues (oxidation, aging, thermal drift).
  • Support supplier qualification and scale‑up of powder production.

REQUIREMENTS/Qualification

  • M.S. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Metallurgy, or related field.
  • ≥7+ years of experience in soft magnetic materials, powder metallurgy, or soft magnetic components.
  • Strong understanding of Fe‑based alloys, amorphous/nanocrystalline materials, and surface chemistry.
  • Hands‑on experience with coating processes: sol‑gel, silane coupling, phosphating, polymer and oxide metals encapsulation,
  • Familiarity with high‑frequency power electronics in POL modules.
  • Experience with DOE, SPC, and materials reliability testing.
